CLUTEX represented Czech technical textiles and presented the results of research and innovation of member companies at Techtextil 2026 in Frankfurt

Participation in the world’s leading trade fair for technical textiles, held April 21–24, April 2026 in Frankfurt am Main, confirmed CLUTEX’s role as a representative of the Czech technical textiles industry and, at the same time, strengthened the international visibility of Czech companies, research organizations, and the innovative potential of the entire sector.

The TECHTEXTIL and TEXPROCESS 2026 international trade fairs in Frankfurt once again reaffirmed their position as the world’s leading platforms for technical textiles, nonwovens, and processing technologies. This year’s edition welcomed more than 36,000 visitors and 1,700 exhibitors from 112 countries, demonstrating the event’s extraordinary international reach and commercial significance. In this concentrated environment, manufacturers, research organizations, technology companies, and application partners from around the world came together to present new materials, production processes, and specific solutions for industrial applications.

For the tenth time, CLUTEX organized an exhibition at the trade fair that presented Czech technical textiles within a unified and representative framework through companies, research organizations, and the academic community. The presentation highlighted the breadth of the cluster’s expertise and its members’ ability to deliver innovative solutions with practical applications in industry, while also confirming that CLUTEX plays an important role as a representative of the Czech industry on the international stage.

Representatives of the participating organizations—including, for example ,GF Machinery s.r.o., Sintex a.s., TUL – Faculty of Textile Engineering, VÚB a.s., VÚTS a.s., ZČU – Faculty of Electrical Engineering, and Textile Testing Institute. The exhibition thus offered concrete examples of collaboration across research, development, and industrial practice.

Several important events took place at the booth, further strengthening the ties between the Czech technical textiles industry and the global market. For example, on April 22, a guided tour for TEX-BREIN project partners provided an opportunity to introduce member companies to potential customers from partner countries. Another event was the “Banquet on the Booth” (also on April 22, 2026), which promoted the official Czech delegation under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The CLUTEX cluster’s participation in the TECHTEXTIL trade fair once again underscored its importance as a platform for connecting industry, research, and education. In the context of an event that brought together thousands of trade visitors and exhibitors from more than a hundred countries, CLUTEX’s participation represented a significant opportunity to strengthen the international visibility of Czech technical textiles, establish new business contacts, and develop research and innovation partnerships.

For CLUTEX, Techtextil was therefore not only an important platform for showcasing its work but also a strategic tool for strengthening the long-term competitiveness of its member organizations in the international environement. Participation in the trade show also confirmed that Czech technical textiles have a firm foothold in the global market and can attract attention through their quality, innovation, and ability to collaborate.

About CLUTEX

CLUTEX—a technical textiles cluster—was established in 2006 in response to the industry’s need to support research and development. The cluster was founded by a total of 17 companies, and the number of member companies has more than doubled to date. The cluster is a driving force behind research and development in the textile industry. Since its founding, it has helped finance hundreds of research projects by member companies, supports international cooperation with Germany through CORNET projects, and collaborates with clusters across Europe. It is a member of the National Cluster Association and the Association of the Defense and Security Industry. It brings together a wide range of organizations—educational institutions, research and testing institutes, and small, medium, and large enterprises. In 2026, it will celebrate its 20th anniversary.
